Enjoy the Journey
Thoughts from the AK Lean Team
A Garden Party with Princesses
I love how this group gives back to the community. They coordinate free events for people to attend, such as book readings at the library or the garden party that we went to. However, they do so much more than that.
Lady in the Streets, Freak in the Spreadsheets.. A Shout Out to Admin Everywhere
Well, all you amazing admin freaks out there, let me fill you in… organizations WOULDN’T SURVIVE without you!
Meet Jane, My Reminder Friend
It reminded me that my goals and aspirations are bigger than me. It reminded me that, as a business owner, you’ll have moments where you don’t want to continue or just can’t find the motivation to do anything that day.
The Month of Mentorship
Mentoring relationships can help people grow both professionally and personally. While many people think that the benefits are only experienced by the person being mentored, but the person doing the mentoring also receives benefits.
Goodbye 2018 - Hello Fabulous 2019!
These seem like pretty vague goals, but I did that for a reason. I understand the principle behind S.M.A.R.T. goals, but I also recognize that I need a year of flexibility after working for structured jobs my entire adult life. I need this year to be whatever it’s going to be, and not try to control every aspect of it.
In-Laws and a Milk Jug Igloo
This year it was an igloo. Correction. It was an EPIC igloo made from milk jugs.
Memes and Museums, Sounds like a Great Idea!
In the article, the museum director, Julie Decker, said that these memes recorded a time in our history. As weird as it sounds to say that a meme is a historical record, I think she’s right.
Rebuilding Anchorage
For people who haven’t been through an earthquake, the physical damage in this picture is minimal. The emotional damage, however, is great. Even 48 hours after the earthquake hit, I couldn’t walk into my home office without feeling anxious, nauseous and terrified that the shaking would start again.
Celebrating Small Business in Alaska
Whether it’s brewing beer, selling beautiful pieces of artwork, or serving up the best breakfast in town, I want to be there to support them in whatever way they need.
Oh #Monslay, I Discovered You a Little Too Late in the Day
However, I think it’s better that I found it after the kind of day I had. I now not only know what it stands for, but I know what a “non-Monslay” day feels like.
