I look at my husband for a long minute before responding. (I watch WAY TOO MANY serial killer documentaries…) I turn to him and ask if he has room for all our luggage, and he says that he has a pick up truck with a topper on the back. Looking at my husband again, he gives me a “you decide look”. Taking a deep breathe, I agreed and thanked him. We followed this man through the hall and up the elevator to the fifth floor. The whole time I’m wondering if I just doomed myself and my family.

Motivation in the Form of a Distributed Workforce

I LOVE the idea of a distributed workforce, rather than using the term remote workforce. In his video, it even talks about how some of his employees are nomads, and work from a different location each day! They live in transit-homes (like RV’s, campers, vans, etc.) or explore the world through Air B&B’s. In Matt Mullenweg’s opinion, as long as they have a strong Wi-Fi connection, he doesn’t care where they work from!

In my previous roles, I was always a cog in a greater machine. Most days, I never saw how my hard work produced a finished product.
